Abstract

This paper is devoted to antenna modeling using one of the most common approaches based on the method of moments (MoM): wire grid. An overview of this approach is given, including its history, limitations and applications. Its use in modeling and manufacturing of lens antennas and antenna arrays is discussed. Works devoted to its use not only with MoM but also with other numerical methods are reviewed. A number of works on the validation of modeling results using this approach are also presented. The conclusion reflects the relevance of the study of the approach and possible directions of its development.
