Abstract
The author examines the names of outbuildings in the territory of Arkhangelsk region. The source for the research was the data of the card index at the Department of the Russian Language and Speech Culture in the Higher School of Social Sciences, Humanities and International Communication of NArFU named after M. V. Lomonosov. The article provides an etymological analysis of words, clarifies the semantics, compares the lexical meanings presented in different districts of Arkhangelsk region. In addition, the author conducts a word-formation analysis.
