Abstract
In recent times, public organizations and private companies have shown increasing interest in career education for settlement of exam-free semester according to social consensus on government’s strengthening career education and demands. However, in spite of quantitative growth in career education for student athletes, the roles of career education are restrictive and its function has not been carried out properly in the real sense. This study aims to set the direction and system of customized career education for student athletes. For the purpose, first, it explored the direction of customized career education for student athletes such as drawing concepts in consideration of the policy direction of career education. Second, it structured each of the content factors that reflected the characteristics of student athletes as a competency model. Third, it developed achievement standard and achievement level based on the content factors. Lastly, it presented a chain network that comprises instruction and learning methods, and evaluation by developing instruction and learning manuals. Such kind of attempt maintains consistency of customized career education for student athletes and will provide basic information to improve career competency of student athletes
