Abstract

The article analyzes the results of a sociological study of the value orientations of modern students. The im-portance of money in the life of students and their attitude to this phenomenon is considered. The conclusion is made about the individualistic and material orientation of the value orientations of students. The study showed that money has a high degree of importance for students. According to the students, money is not the main, but a significant part of life. More important values are considered to be health, mental well-being, family, interest-ing work. However, financial well-being is among the five most relevant and significant phenomena in the hier-archy of life values. The essential role of money in ensuring a prosperous and successful life, as young people see it, is recognized. The main current strategy of students’ financial behavior, according to them, is a strategy to increase income, not to save or accumulate it.
