Вища аграрна освіта в Україні: виклики часу

Abstract

Goal. To analyze the dynamics of agricultural education in Ukraine over the past decade; consider changes and describe the quality of educational, innovative and research activities, the main trends in training qualified personnel for the agricultural sector of the economy, the impact on the educational process of quarantine restrictions, distance learning, demographic change. Methods. Analysis of statistical data — materials collected by scientists of NULES of Ukraine, the Association of Agricultural Educational Institutions; the results of the meeting of the Council for Agrarian Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the participation of the Ministers of Education and Science and Agrarian Policy and Food. Results. The key problem today is to improve the quality of the educational process, combining educational and scientific activities with practical training of students through the increase of the role of employers, agribusiness in the life of universities. Emphasis is placed on the expediency of development and introduction by the Association of Higher Agrarian Education Institutions, the Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions together with the People’s Deputies of Ukraine of legislative initiatives to encourage stakeholders to finance training and research, improve the activities of research farms, links with departments of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. The directions are offered of improvement of the system of the state order which is based on the careful analysis of real sector of the economy taking into account needs of local communities, the international labor market, youth. Conclusions. The materials of the article, conclusions, and proposals can be useful for research institutions, educational institutions, public authorities, local communities, the public.
