Abstract
The article is devoted to the description of the semantic field “судьба” in the Russian language through the analysis of dictionary entries. The main lexemes of this conceptual group are singled out. The author also studies the definitions of the selected lexemes, in order to identify their semantic correspondence to the considered sphere “судьба”. All this allows ensuring the completeness of the selected semantic row for the further research. At the end of the article, a brief observation, which gives a comparative description of the work with dictionaries of synonyms in English and Russian, is given.
