Abstract
The article highlights the life path of Volodymyr Pavlovich Bobin (1858-1925), one of the leading doctors of Kharkiv at the end of the 19th and the first quarter of the 20th centuries. Various aspects of his ascetic activity are analyzed including his role as medic-manager of the outpatient clinic and hospital of the Kharkiv Medical Society, a doctor of the Kharkiv Third Men's Gymnasium, speaker of the City Duma, etc. The provided testimonies of the contemporaries of «holy doctor» are revealing his influence on colleagues. The innovations of V.P. Bobin in the field of medical care for schoolchildren is also vastly explored as well as the overall significance of Volodymyr Bobin for the history of medicine in Ukraine, as well as the history of Kharkiv. The work is accompanied by the publication of rare photographs and documents.
