Abstract

This study analyzed the relationship between the personality traits and the emotional labor intensity of foodservice industry employees. The data were gathered through survey, and the survey was carried out using the self-administered questionnaires on the sample of the foodservice industry workers. 147 sets of questionnaires were collected and used for analysis. Correlation analysis, regression analysis, t-test and ANOVA were utilized for data analysis. As a result of factor analysis, the endeavor of emotion ,transfer - control and the emotional dissonance between expression -experience were extracted as dimension consist of emotional labor. It was indicated that these two factors have the positive(+) relationship with agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion and openness to experience among the traits suggested by Big jive theory of personality. And it was found causality between the parts of jive traits and emotional labor.
