Abstract

This publication continues the research, the main task of which is the creation of a geographic information system and a geodatabase intended for information support of roadside services. The authors swap their experience in developing a geographic information system in the field of roadside services in the Irkutsk region. It acts primarily as a tool for spatial analysis and a means of displaying thematic maps, providing great opportunities for optimizing the existing network of roadside infrastructure and rational placement of its new facilities. Such an information system should provide an opportunity to interactively display and perform automated processing of information about all stored objects; present processing results in the form of graphic images, maps, tables, and reports. The main provisions and conclusions drawn in the work formed the basis for recommendations on the development of roadside services in the Irkutsk region. To solve this problem, we used systemic and integrated approaches, methods of geographic information mapping and spatial analysis.
