Abstract

In the article, based on the analysis of the works of D. N. Pryanishnikov, it is shown that these works do not contain the completeness of scientific justifications for the industrial production of mineral fertilizers.
It is revealed that the industry of mineral fertilizers production created in the USSR, as devoid of sufficient scientific justification, led to unproductive costs in agriculture, unbearable for the USSR.
It is shown that problems in food production are the result of institutional traps, the opening and getting rid of which is impossible without the Provision for scientific discussions.
It is obvious that without overcoming the institutional pitfalls, food production will only decline, bringing the threat of famine closer to the Third World war for fertile land.
