Abstract
History of development of concept "Philosophy of education" is investigational in the article, the necessity of forming of new paradigm of education is reasonable for modern terms, an aim and tasks of philosophy of education are exposed taking into account modern realities. Basic directions of philosophy of education are spirituality, work, development, culture etc. The high role of self-education registers in the article, as a basic factor of upgrading of knowledge of worker. In spite of initially philosophical character, the examined science has close connection with practice, as operates such concepts, as a well-educated man, ideal of form, educational technologies.
