Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the difference of work engagement and innovation behaviors according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the members of the integrated sports council. Based on the objective sampling method, the study selected employees from 17 cities and provincial sports clubs nationwide, distributed 400 copies of questionnaires and used 358 copies in the final analysis. The data was analyzed by SPSS Windows ver 20.0 and Amos 18.0 Program. It was used to frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA. Results were as follows. First, there is no difference in work engagement according to the gender of the members of the integrated sports council, but there is a difference in innovation behavior. Second, work engagement and innovation behaviors according to age were found to be higher in the 40s and 50s than in the 20s and 30s in all variables. Third, work engagement and innovation behaviors according to working period were more active for groups of 10 years or more than 5 years and 5 to 10 years. Fourth, major in physical education showed higher engagement and innovation behavior than non-major. Fifth, there is no difference in work engagement among previous working groups. It was found that the sport group had a higher level of innovation behavior than the sports group. The Integrated Sports Council requires changes for an effective organizational culture and performance.
