Abstract
이 글에서는 한국어 지역 방언에 대한 연구 현황을 검토하고 앞으로의 과제를 제안하였다. 지역 방언을 대상으로 한 그간의 연구 성과를 살펴보고 최근의 연구 동향을 분석함으로써 앞으로의 연구 방향 및 과제를 모색하였다. 연구 방법론, 연구 주제, 연구 자료의 측면에서 한국어 지역 방언 연구사를 간략히 검토한 후, 2000년대 이후의 논의를 중심으로 한국어 지역 방언 연구 동향을 기술하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 향후 지역 방언 연구가 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하였다. 한국어 지역 방언 연구의 현황과 과제에 대한 이 같은 논의는 지역 방언 연구의 필요성과 의의를 재확인하는 한편, 지역 방언 연구의 새로운 가능성을 발견하는 계기를 마련할 것으로 기대된다.
