Abstract

The paper considers an experimental-theoretical method for testing a coastal radar station using a test target with a reduced effective scattering surface (ESR), which makes it possible to take into account the effect of precipitation of varying intensity when testing in conditions of lack of precipitation. The limitations are considered when choosing the ESR of a test target both along the upper limit, due to the technical parameters of the tested radar and the range of the radio horizon, and along the lower limit, due to sea waves and reflections from the sea surface.
