Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of mentalization and resilience as psychologicalcharacteristics that mediate attachment anxiety and emotional dysregulation. For thispurpose, correlation analysis of each variable, hierarchical regression analysis to verifythe mediating effect, and bootstrapping technique to verify the statistical significance ofthe mediating effect were utilized. As a result, a significant correlation was found betweenall variables. In addition, while mentalization significantly mediated the relationship betweenattachment anxiety and emotional dysregulation, resilience was found to mediatesignificantly only when it was input together with mentalization. In terms of emotionaldifficulties, this suggests that mentalization and resilience can contribute to positivelymediating the effects of relationships leading to emotional dysregulation in attachmentanxiety.
