Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends and issues related to multicultural education in the field of future education research and to find future educational implications. This study was analyzed the papers related to multicultural education published in the first issue of 2011 through 2020 in the 『The Journal of Future Education』, a representative academic journal discussing future education. As a result of thesis analysis, empirical research was the most common type of research trend of multicultural education, 75% of empirical research and 25% of theoretical research. As a result of research subject analysis, it was found that the most research was conducted on the current status, current status, perception and attitude, and there were many studies dealing with curriculum and programs. As a result of examining the research related to multicultural education in 『The Journal of Future Education』, it seems that research on adults targeting a large number of adults outside of school education is necessary. As shown in the study on multicultural acceptance, it was analyzed that multicultural acceptance and sensitivity were lower in adults in their 30s and older than in their 10-20s. Therefore, research on education for adults outside the school should be conducted. In terms of research topics, research on the development and application of multicultural education or educational programs for adults after school age.
