Abstract

The article describes various means of biological protection against radiation exposure, i.e., pharmacological substances and food additives that increase the overall resistance to adverse environmental factors. Effective radioresistance agents are safe and multiplex. They cause no side effects and possess favorable tolerability. For instance, chicken egg shells are a natural source of calcium that can serve as a biological agent against strontium-90. Green tea extract with milk can reduce the availability of strontium and cesium radionuclides.
