Abstract

The article offers a general characteristic of the genres of bard song (“author song”) and amateur song, considered in the first place from the perspective of literary theory (they can also be examined by musicology, dramaturgy and folklore studies). In the article are indicated the main dates of the origin and development of these phenomena. Moreover, it discusses the social basis and background of their existence in the years 1950–1980 and their virtual disappearance in the post-Soviet period.
