Abstract
The results of theoretical and experimental research of personal correlates of color preferences of students are covered. The relationship between the level of self-esteem and stability of color choices on the test of M. lucher is revealed.
 The article presents the results of sociometric testing, which allowed on the basis of color preferences to identify the status and role positions of students and to form project groups. The forecast about the demand for color consulting in the field of visualization of multidimensional data is made.
