Abstract

Over the past five years, economic cooperation between China and Southeast Asia has continued to show steady growth. In 2020, the region became China's largest trading partner, surpassing the EU for the first time. In 2021, it retained its leadership in terms of trade operations with China. The growth of Internet penetration and e-commerce has led to a significant increase in the share of counterfeit trade between the PRC and the countries of the region the volume of the flow of counterfeit goods from China to Southeast Asia is now approximately $35 billion. This causes significant damage to Southeast Asian countries, where local enterprises and investors bear considerable losses from this activity.
