Abstract

The article considers the problems of expanding relations between Egypt and the EAEU, which are planning to sign a full-format agreement on the creation of a free trade zone (FTA) in the future. The author defines the entity, forms and directions of the international integration activities of Egypt and the EAEU on the external contour, briefly discusses the concepts of integration partnerships. The relevance of the study is dictated by the need to determine the consequences for Egypt and the ECO member countries from the conclusion of the planned FTA agreements. The author studies the features and aspects of the trade integration of Egypt and the EAEU, analyzes the level of bilateral cooperation and its prospects in the future, identifies mutual interests of the parties. The article notes that the parties consider the FTA agreement as the most important stage in the formation of new ways of economic cooperation through access to new markets and liberalization of trade relations, which is especially important in the context of the new geopolitical situation and being under pressure from Western sanctions of the key player of the EAEU – Russia. In addition, there is very serious political support for the future free trade agreement between the EAEU and Egypt.
