Abstract

The research objectives are as follows: to identify the most frequent patterns of phonetic interference in the bilingual Buryats’ native speech and to reveal causes of this phenomenon. The article examines manifestations of phonetic interference in the young bilingual Buryats’ speech, discusses the most typical cases. The study is based on analysing non-linguistic students’ speech. Scientific originality of the paper involves a comprehensive comparative analysis of reverse phonetic interference, i.e. non-native (second) language influence on the native one. The research findings are as follows: the most common causes of phonetic interference in the bilingual Buryats’ native speech are revealed.
