Abstract

In order to construct a humanity education contents for college students, this study reviewed 『Sasojeol (士小節)』, which is the origin of Korea’s distinct culture and humanity education. This study focused especially on the dietary norms set in 『Sasojeol』and created contents for college students based on the topics applicable to the present society. The major findings of this study can be summarized as
 follows:
 The first topic is “filial piety contained in a cup of tea from children to parents.”
 College students will be tasked with practicing preparing tea for their parents with the goal of having them realize and implement the concept of filial piety in their everyday lives. The second topic is “a self-promise about food with courtesy inside and honesty outside.” The goal of this topic is to improve healthy dietary control through the practice of table manners and post-meal cleanup. The third topic is “communicative drinking party full of a sense of responsibility and control.” The goal
 of this topic is to enable students to behave responsibly at drinking parties through
 controlled drinking. Students will also acquire a precise knowledge of communication patterns and behaviors that they should avoid at drinking parties. The last topic is “cooperative congregate dining filled with respect and consideration.” Through this topic, students will be given opportunities to think about and practice the respect and consideration needed for congregate dining.
