Abstract
In this study, the optimum operating condition of the molding machine included in the mobile solid fuel production system which produces the solid fuel from the collected coastal waste was analyzed by the response surface analysis method. Most of the coastal wastes are flammable and consist mainly of nets, ropes, buoys, styrofoam and wood. However, it is treated as landfill, consignment treatment or illegal incineration after on-site collection, resulting in serious secondary contamination. For this reason, a new portable moving solid fuel production system is currently under development and aims to establish optimal operating conditions for the system. The discharge port temperature (℃), Revolution Per Minute(RPM), and waste PE content (wt.%) Of coastal waste were set as independent variables and the molding density (g/cm3) was set as the dependent variable. It can be confirmed that the pellet density increases as the discharge port temperature and the pellet density as the screw rotation speed decreases. We also found that the PE-based coastal waste content does not affect the molding density.
