Abstract

An «illustrated book», as the name implies, is a book containing images. This is a book for reading, which focuses on pictures supplemented with words, and which is mainly intended for children. This article examines the process of evolution of Chinese children's illustrated books, as well as the features of the work of illus-trators of the past and present. The main conclusion we come to is that the study of the origin and evolution of a children's picture book plays an important role in its creation and use today.
