Abstract

In the Russian Federation young social-economic phenomenon of student entrepreneurship is actively developing, supported at the federal and regional levels. However, the support provided by governmental and regional bodies is insufficient, and the fundamental aspect of the issue is the understanding of motivational factors that can be decisive for students when choosing this path of personal development, conveying the advantages of running their own project and demonstrating successful stories. This article addresses the questions of motivational factors that drive students in choosing entrepreneurial activities, and the authors examine the results of a sociological study conducted among stu-dents at ITMO University, with a focus on a similar study conducted in 2022. The conducted research contributes to the study of the motivational aspects of student entrepreneurship and identifies inhibiting factors.
