Abstract

The aim of the article is to highlight the main approaches to personal and professional maturity of the individual.Research methods. Theoretical analysis and systematization of scientific, theoretical and methodical sources have been used. Research results. The problem of research of personal and professional maturity of a person have been considered in the article. Some scientific approaches to the study of personal and professional maturity of future specialists have been analyzed. Structural components and indicators of personal maturity have been highlighted. It is stated that personal maturity reflects the basic integrative characteristics of a person: professional self-awareness, self-esteem, self-actualization, self-expression, self-regulation, self-improvement, self-expression, awareness of values. It is emphasized that personal maturity should be considered as a functional component of professional activity. It has been found out that professional maturity consists of stable professional motivation for success through professional development and self-improvement, formed professional identity, acquired professional knowledge, skills and abilities. The general characteristics of a professionally mature personality have been analyzed: autonomy, awareness of the world of professions, ability to reconcile information with their characteristics, ability to make decisions, ability to plan their professional life, emotional involvement in the situation of decision. The close connection between personal and professional maturity in social and economic professions, in which personal maturity is a component of professionalism, is emphasized.The practical significance of the study. The results of the study can be used in the teaching of psychological disciplines.Conclusions and prospects for further scientific research. It is determined that the process of personal maturity development is a component of the holistic development of a student's personality, his\her value orientations, the personality's orientation towards professional activity and motives for professional activity. Further perspectives of the study, which consist in more thorough theoretical and practical study of the conditions of development of professionally significant characteristics of the personal maturity of future specialists have been outlined.
