Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree of necessity of invention education contents that perceived by elementary school students, the difference in perception of invention education contents according to general characteristics, and the correlation between the practical arts curriculum areas. The objects subjects of study were 350 students in the 5th and 6th grades from five elementary schools in Chungbuk. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and correlation.
 The research results are as follows. First, elementary school students' perception of the necessity of invention education contents contained in practical arts textbooks was slightly higher than intermediate average. Second, gender was not a significant variable affecting the perception of the necessity of invention education contents. However, grade and invention education experience were significant variables that had an effect. Third, it was found that there was a positive correlation between the practical arts curriculum areas containing invention curriculum contents.
 According to the above research results, it can be seen that in order to improve perception of the necessity of invention education content, it is necessary to reflect the perception of students who are involved in education.
