Abstract

The purpose of this study was to derive the basic direction and implications of school violence prevention policy. This study analyzed parents’ perception of the governmental field-based master plan of school violence prevention. This policy evaluation is necessary for government to develop a school violence prevention policy. A survey was conducted in June 2016 using an online survey system. The main purpose of the survey was to evaluate specific tasks in school violence policy in terms of effectiveness and importance. Using Borich’s needs assessment model and The Locus for Focus analysis tool, we demonstrated the priorities of school violence prevention policy. In conclusion, the campaigns “Reinforce education for respect for life,” “Strengthening personality education centered on experience through revitalization of arts and physical education,” “Establishment and operation of facilities for visitor control,” and “Stricter management of harmful environments” need to be implemented more actively.
