Abstract
In this paper, anthology of 『Manyoushuu』published after 1945 is considered. These anthologies are generally recognized for their achievements in that they introduced works that contain Japanese specificity as well as universal sentiments of mankind to Korea. However, these anthologies are disappointing in that they are not collections of works that actively reflect the perspectives of Koreans. In this paper, from the standpoint of critically inheriting and developing the achievements of previous studies, we propose a new anthology of 『Manyoushuu』, which intensively introduces works closely related to ancient Korea. However, the existing anthologies and the new anthologies are not mutually exclusive. Rather, they are complementary to each other. Therefore, I think the reader will be able to appreciate the representative works of 『Manyoushuup』 more broadly through two anthologies with different personalities.
