Abstract
For the first time in the Tuvinian linguistics, the article examines the verb in the ritual vocabulary of the Tuvinian people in Russia and abroad; the all-Turkic, original Tuvinian and dialect lexical strata are differentiated. The analysis shows that this lexical group is constituted almost exclusively (74 out of 76 words) by euphemisms denoting death in different age groups and indicating its cause. Euphemisms take their origin from figurative meanings of basic vocabulary. They represent speech etiquette, religious beliefs and national identity of the Tuvinian people, testify immediate and mediated influence of the Central Asian cultures on the Tuvinian one.
