Abstract

Over the past ten years, the development of Russian-Mexican trade and economic relations showed a positive trend: bilateral trade grew steadily, individual examples of investment cooperation were carried out, and an industrial and trade dialogue developed. From December 1, 2018 in Mexico, the new president of the country who intends to diversify external relations. What can we expect from him in relation to Russia? How will its policy affect bilateral trade and economic cooperation? What opportunities open up for Russian business? In order to find answers to these questions, this study was conducted, during which the peculiarities of the behavior of the new president of Mexico, his foreign economic policy, the state of Russian-Mexican trade, the possibilities of cooperation in the aviation, energy, oil and gas, road transport, mining and agriculture were revealed. The study has scientific and practical significance, since, based on empirical methods of knowledge, new directions of Russian-Mexican cooperation (pharmaceuticals, medicine, etc.) have been identified, new Mexican government projects have been identified in which Russian companies could participate.
