Abstract

The article considers the following issues: historical context and the basic trends of musical education development in Georgia. The paper emphasizes the important role of the outstanding Russian composers and performers (N. G. Rubinstein, P. I. Tchaikovsky, M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov, S. V. Rachmaninoff, N. N. Tcherepnin and others) in Tbilisi State Conservatoire formation. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author introduces new factual material and unique photo materials on musical life in Georgia at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries into scientific circulation. As a result, it is proved that cultural cooperation of Georgia and Russia is a unique example of intercultural symbiosis.
