Abstract

The complex mix of socio-historical and literary circumstances after the disintegration of the SFRY intensified the stratification and disintegration of the former Yugoslav republics. Sufficient time distance makes it possible to more reliably review the changes that have occurred and sketch those that are still current. The introductory part of the paper points out the stagnation of comparative studies of South Slavic literatures, which is manifested, among other things, in the form of the non-existence of solid theoretical and methodological starting points. The status of South Slavic comparative studies at the studies of national philology in Serbia through the last accreditation was considered. At the end of the paper, a study was presented which, in the application phase, should provide a more reliable and systematic insight into the presence of South Slavic literature in the (post) Yugoslav context through the following aspects: curricula, textbooks, methodological literature, ie scientific mission as a whole. Keywords: South Slavic comparative studies, curricula, textbooks, methodological literature, scientific mission
