Abstract
The article is devoted to a historiographical review of the works of modern foreign Mongolian scholars, which presents the evolution of the views of western historiography in various aspects of Mongolian studies. Based on the analysis, the author reveals general trends, promising directions, methodological approaches in the development of foreign Mongolian studies.
