Abstract
The article examines the concept of the ethical position of a lawyer and identifies the main directions of its possible research. The task is to determine the moral foundations and professional values in the law enforcement activities of the future lawyer. The results of a pilot experiment comparing the attitude to law (standardized methodology) and the formation of an ethical position (the author's mini-cases identifying latent support for the rule of law) of second-year legal students are given. The predominance of legal realism of the majority of students, but the unwillingness to demonstrate the ethical position of the future lawyer in legal mini-cases, has been established. The conclusion is made about the need for targeted pedagogical influence during training, contributing to the formation of a stable ethical position of the future lawyer, based exclusively on the rules of law.
