Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the model that explains the perceived performance of the sport coping of the bowling players through mediating effects of sport burnout. For this purpose, 367 bowling athletes were selected and their research problems were verified through descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis. The following conclusions were drawn through this series of processes. First, as the problem focused coping perceived by a bowler increases, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization decrease and individual achievement increases. Second, as the emotional exhaustion and depersonalization perceived by bowlers increase, the perceived performance decreases and as individual achievement increases, perceived performance increases. Third, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and individual achievement perceived by bowlers have mediating effects on the relationship between problem focused coping and perceived performance.
