Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigation the effects of aquarobics program on physical fitness and urinary incontinence in elderly women. The subjects of this study were 8 elderly women in exercise group. The 12 weeks of aquarobics exercise intervention was consisted of 60 minutes of a day, 3 days per a week. The results of this study showed that significant improvement of physical fitness such as Left and Right grip strength (p.05), Chair sit-and-up (p.01), 2min standing walking (p.01). Moreover, we found that there were the significant improvements of urinary incontinence in a day (p.01), a week (p.01), a month (p.05) between before and after the intervention. Therefore, these data demonstrated that aquarobics program may be an effective strategy for improving urinary incontinence in elderly women.
