Abstract

The article analyzes the concept of "identity" and reveals the semantic characteristics of the professional identity of a military leader. It is considered that the problem of research of identity is a socio-psychological phenomenon. The professional identity is defined as a certain personal construct, which includes: a system of ideas about themselves and their position in the profession; acceptance of its goals, functions, roles and methods of implementation; attitude to their profession, significant values; readiness for professional activity; comparing to the professional group, acceptance of its goals, values, professional roles and professional culture. The peculiarity of “the leaders’ professional identity formation in risky conditions” has been studied.The purpose of the article is an empirical study of the professional identity of military leaders at the stage of professional training.The methodological basis of the study were theories of psychoanalytic approach, the basics of cognitive approach, symbolic interactionism, semantically oriented approach, the concepts of self-consciousness and self-determination.The military organization is considered as a factor of the environment that lays down the psychological characteristics of a particular individual (entity) of government. The expediency of using a semantically oriented approach in the study of the phenomenon of identity is substantiated. The identification characteristics of military leaders are empirically studied, which reflect the transformation of the officer's professional identity in terms of professional training, expressed in aspects of activity, perspective and reflective “ego”, which significantly affects the self-determination of the subject, his/her values, ideas and motives. The importance of reflection for the professional realization of a military leader is noted as a significant characteristic that affects the productivity of his relationship.Conclusion. Prospects for further research in this area may be to identify mechanisms and ways of forming a professional identity in terms of vocational training.
