Abstract
The paper aims to reveal features of the traditional Even costume as a sacred text. Symbolic functions of an ethnic costume are examined. It is shown that ornamental, chromatic and acoustic semantics of the traditional Even costume represents the national worldview. Scientific originality of the study involves a comprehensive analysis of symbolic elements in the traditional Even costume. The research findings are as follows: the Even ceremonial costume, possessing symbolic and sacral meanings, performs the function of a mediator between the real and the symbolic worlds.
