Abstract

The article discusses the flexibility of norms in modern English represented by a number of varieties. Some of world Englishes reveal unique distinctive features even in the conservative grammatical level. Other varieties have close features, which makes it possible to unite them in a regional cluster of world Englishes. When borrowed as exonorms, common features can demonstrate the general global trend that manifests the direction for the development of English as an International Language.
