Abstract
In article four basic stages of development of electronic collections are examined on the basis of national libraries: digitalization of funds of national libraries; the organization of national electronic library; the international projects uniting the different countries; creation of the world digital library. The organizational, technical and psychological factors preventing numbering of funds are listed. Infl uence of digital collections on perception of traditional collections is analyzed.
