Abstract

This study tends to examine the mediating effects of self-concept and maladaptive cognitiveemotion regulation on the relationship between child and adolescent complex traumaticexperiences and interpersonal problems. In order to test this hypothesis, this study wasconducted with 621 male and female college students and graduates from universities in SouthKorea whose ages are from ages 18 to 29. The research analysis results are as follows. theresult of the analysis of the mediating effects of maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation andself-concept on the relationship between child and adolescent complex trauma and interpersonalproblems showed mediating effect. Among these, it was confirmed that the indirect effect ofself-concept had a greater influence. This study sought to utilize the two variables as therapeuticresources in trauma research and discussed follow-up research and suggestions.
