대학도서관 리모델링 프로젝트에 관한 소고 - 덕성여자대학도서관을 중심으로 -

Abstract

대학도서관의 리모델링프로젝트를 진행할 때 가장 중요한 부분은 리모델링프로젝트의 추진방향인 목표를 잡는 것이다. 대학도서관은 주요 이용자인 학생들을 위한 공간이 되어야 한다는 것을 최종목표로 삼았을 때, 공간배치나 내부 인테리어 디자인은 자연스럽게 이용자중심적 설계로 이어진다. 본 대학도서관은 다음과 같은 세 가지의 목표를 수립하고 대학도서관 리모델링 프로젝트를 추진하였다. 첫째, 대학도서관은 이용자인 학생들의 생활의 중심장소가 되어야 한다. 둘째, 대학도서관은 이용자가 문화적인 체험의 기회를 가질 수 있도록 복합문화공간이 되어야 한다. 셋째, 대학도서관은 이용자가 오래 머물고 싶은 장소가 되어야 한다. 이용자가 도서관에 오래 머물게 될 때, 이용자는 도서관이 제공하는 서비스에 자연스럽게 노출되어 이용으로 연결되기 때문에 대학도서관은 매력적인 장소가 될 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 대학도서관 리모델링프로젝트를 수행하면서 준비한 내용과 진행의 전 과정을 소개함으로서 비슷한 프로젝트를 준비하는 관련자들과 유용한 정보와 경험을 나누고자 한다. This article describes the whole process of Duksung Women's University Library's remodeling project. The library's remodeling project specified three concrete goals. Firstly, the remodeled library should be the center of the students' everyday life in campus. Secondly, the remodeled university library should be a place where students may experience culture. Thirdly, the remodeled university library should be a place where students enjoying spending as much time as they can. Eighty three percent of those using Duksung Women's University Library report satisfied with the newly remodeled library space and interior of the library building.
