Abstract

In Korea, concerns are growing over the expansion of blind spots in housing welfare support for the elderly, which is dependent on public policies, along with the acceleration of aging due to baby boomers. In this change, the concept of AIP, in which the elderly continue to stay at home and live independently in the community where they lived, is drawing attention as a basic policy for housing welfare for the new elderly. In order to institutionalize this concept in accordance with the situation in Korea, it is necessary to first prepare elderly-friendly housing guidelines based on apartments with the highest proportion in the metropolitan area. To study this, research trends analysis was conducted through literature review. As a result, the subject type could be classified into three directions: space planning, service, system, and policy on the premise of elderly-friendly housing, and studies related to baby boomers, residence persistence, and AIP were reflected. However, it was confirmed that there is a lack of research necessary to prepare elderly-friendly apartment housing guidelines reflecting the characteristics of each public and private housing market.
