Abstract

This study is to define relationship of occupational consciousness and job satisfaction of licensed real estate agents. To achieve the objective, after deriving occupational consciousness factors, a survey was conducted on 184 certified real estate agents in Seoul, and the effects of these factors on job satisfaction were statistically analyzed. According to the survey, it was analyzed that the factors of pride and commitment to work have a significant influence on occupational consciousness. On the other hand, professionalism factor wasn't shown to affect job satisfaction. The following results were obtained in order to increase the occupational consciousness of the real estate agent. First, real estate agents need to enhance their pride in their job, rewards through their job, a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment, and continuity of work. Second, they should feel rewarded by considering real estate brokerage as a lifelong job, not mere a money making, and do their job with sincerity for customers. Also professional education and training to increase job satisfaction are required for them to continue working in real estate brokerage.
