Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate general high-school students’ experience related to collecting and using career information for their career development. For this purpose, we conducted two focus group interviews of 7 general high-school students sample which is diverse of their gender and grade. The main findings of FGI were as follows. First, general high-school student use variaous resource to collect career information. In case of human resource, the communication between students and important people in their lives is different. Second, the level of Career decision level influences how they utilize carrer information. The group of students that decide on their career clearly try to integrate career information to specify their career path. however, the others who have a superficial perception of their career path try to collect general information about the university not something related their long term goal. Third, general high school students evaluate their experience related to career information as a positive base of their career development. Even though they go through hardship, they find its own meaning with reflective thinking. Based on the main findings above, We present practical and academic implications.
