Abstract
Given the increasing activities of service innovation and its importance, this paper tries to analyze the innovation patterns in the Korean service sector, using firm level data from ‘Report on 2018 Korean Innovation Survey: Service Sector’. Using the statistical techniques of factor analysis and cluster analysis, five innovation patterns can be identified. The resulting distribution in the industries of each innovation pattern and comparison with other countries’ work make it possible to confirm not only the general patterns across countries but also identify the distinctiveness of the Korean service sector.
