Abstract

The Chinese visual art, the valuable heritage of human civilization, influenced considerably the European art. At the same time, the Chinese philosophy of art offered the world a new understanding of the artistic conception - the painter’s thoughts, feelings and wishes were directly represented in pictures. The article analyses the basic principles of the Chinese one-stroke technique and provides examples of how this technique influenced the Russian painters’ creative work. The main differences between the Chinese and European visual arts are considered.
