Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze tasks and duties of nurse assistants of inpatient and outpatient department in the ROK military hospitals. Methods: Prototype of job analysis was developed based on literature review, and 27 nurse assistants working at military hospitals participated in evaluation of the importance and performance on the prototype. Final product of job analysis was developed through evaluation of the importance and content validity of prototype by experts of 8 military hospital nurse managers. Results: Job of nurse assistants in ROK military hospitals was composed of 7 duties (supporting medical professionals in/outpatient, supporting oriental medicine doctors, supporting RNs, performing household duties, continuing education, and performing military specific tasks), 24 tasks, and 95 task elements. Conclusion: The study conducted the job analysis of nurse assistants in ROK military hospitals. It could be utilized to the standardization of the job description of nurse assistants in military hospitals.
